The Maldives — without the island barrier.
Hulhumalé is a modern reclaimed island located 4 km off the north-east coast of Malé and just 3 km from Velana International Airport — connected by bridge. Real beaches, real streets, real cafés, no boat transfers required.

An ambitious vision
Hulhumalé is an artificial island created from a lagoon. Phase I (188 hectares) began in 1997 and was completed by 2002. The first settlement was inaugurated in May 2004.
A growing city
Phase I targeted a population of 60,000 by 2020. Phase II (240 hectares) extends the island for a total population of 100,000 — a real urban environment, not a tourist enclave.
Walkable
Wide promenades, palm-lined streets, and a long beach you can walk for an hour. No transport needed for daily life.
Cafés & restaurants
From local Maldivian short-eats to international cafés — there's a real food scene a few minutes away.
The beach
Hulhumalé's public beach is the closest beach to the airport. Calm, clean, and right across the road from the hotel.
A real local feel
This is where Maldivians live and work. You're not on a private island — and that's the point.
